All senior officials have completed appropriate training, have hours of experience and are known for their approachability. New officials will be provided basic training and encouraged to continue a learning plan. New marshals are teamed with experienced marshals to ensure an easy step into this fascinating world that is really close to the action and highly respected by fellow officials and competitors.
Equipment needed for track work is provided and basic workplace health and safety precautions apply to clothing, footwear, hearing and eye protection, sun and weather safety and the like is all taken into consideration.
Meals are provided free of charge and certain membership affiliations apply to marshals.
Assistance is provided for basic travel expenses if required. Accommodation may be provided for some official roles however the sheer pleasure of volunteering and marshalling is usually enough reward!
