Zoom log in will be sent closer to the date.

An update of things happening in CMRC. Whilst we haven't met on line for some time, a few things have been ticking over in the background.

VISIT TO ONE RACEWAY

On Monday 5th February Peter and Greg were invited to meet with the manager of One Raceway, Mr Ian Watt in Goulburn and inspect the progress of works at the track, previously known as Wakefield Park.

Noise having been the reason the track was closed by the previous owners, the new owners impressed upon us the absolute priority for us, as new track hirers, to not exceed our MoMs limit of 95 decibels at 30 meters. We have an agreement to honour that limit and we will do so with zero tolerance.

The inspection illustrated the incredible amount of work the new owners have completed so far. As Jim Scaysbrook, from Old Bike Magazine, who accompanied us on the tour, commented that the work done is not only overdue, but superb in the making of this in becoming a premier motorcycle circuit in NSW. Racing will only be one activity planned; others will include rider training, track days, swap meets and more.

In complying with the noise issue One Raceway have built battered noise barriers around the major sections of circuit. From what we experienced they work extremely well. In terms of circuit layout, the additional changes to the track layout will make for a much more interesting and exciting ride experience. The previous turn 10 needs to be seen to be believed and the previously tight and off camber entry to the main straight will now be a fast banked sweeper with potentially the best corner for bikes anywhere; think like turn 12 at SMSP park with a 15-degree bank to assist. Can’t wait! Another huge feature is the introduction of a few important new engineering design innovations. Ripple strips have been removed or designed to reduce their impact on bikes. Both the new sweeper and the end of the straight will be surfaced so that running off will be a lot safer and have the potential to allow a bike to be able to return to the track. Drainage issues have been addressed and electrical work installed for lights, communications and for video monitoring of

GOULBURN COMMUNITY

We met with some local business owners who all congratulated us in being among the first to run a major event at the circuit. ASBK being the other significant event. This sort of business event brings a big economic benefit to the town and there has been great interest in our event. Please feel free to help promote it.

ONE RACEWAY

The name change for Wakefield Park is timely. New owners with the responsibility to address the major issue for Goulburn – man-aging noise. The new management recognise that the circuit is part of the wider community, and the need to work with that community, they needed to think as one – one community. Hence, the new branding as One Raceway; no doubt it will re-main Wakefield Park in the hearts of many older riders.

AUSTRALIAN HISTORIC TITLES 2024

CMRC have been awarded the control and running rights to the titles, and we have booked One Raceway for a four day event from 14-17th November. We suggest you book accommodation early as there will be a lot of interest from interstate teams.

With P7, the new “Golden Era” means we will need extra time in the race program. We’ve arranged to begin a four day event starting Thursday 14th, which will be purely a practice day. We are certain riders and teams will appreciate this practice before commencing qualifying first thing Friday 15th….. more details as we firm up classes and a race program.

THE NEWEST ADDITION TO CMRC

Thanks to a member Matt Burton the CMRC is now the proud owner of a Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van that will have a few repairs done and the club Logo put on it. This will help us in transporting Club equipment to events as well as promotion and advertising. Thanks Matt for sourcing this ‘at the right price’ for us.
